Fire station apparatus bays are active environments where personnel, vehicles and equipment move through large overhead door openings throughout the day.

BrinkAlert develops high-visibility LED safety systems for commercial and apparatus bay doors that provide personnel with an immediate visual indication of door status.

Instead of relying solely on the position of the door to determine whether an opening is clear, BrinkAlert systems use highly visible LED illumination along the sides of the doorway to communicate door status.

A typical BrinkAlert Commercial Door Light Kit can provide:

  • Solid Red — Door closed

  • Flashing Red — Door in motion

  • Solid Green — Door fully open

  • Amber — Optional warning or pre-announce indication

The illuminated LED strips are positioned vertically along the door opening, making door status visible from throughout the apparatus bay.

Designed for Apparatus Bay Doors

BrinkAlert's Commercial Door Light Kit (CDLK) can be integrated with many common commercial overhead door operators and configured around the existing door controls and limit signals.

For fire stations, this creates a simple visual communication system around one of the most active transition points in the facility.

When crews are preparing to respond, returning to the station, moving apparatus or working around the bay, the illuminated doorway provides another highly visible indication of the door's current status.

BrinkAlert systems can be used with applications including:

  • Fire station apparatus bay doors

  • Sectional overhead doors

  • Rolling steel doors

  • High-speed commercial doors

  • Municipal and public safety facilities

  • Maintenance and service bays

FireShowsWest brings together firefighters, first responders, instructors and suppliers for hands-on training, classroom education and an exhibit hall featuring equipment, technology and services for the fire service.
