Clear Door Status Before the Apparatus Moves
A door panel can be difficult to judge from the driver's position, particularly when several bay doors are moving or the apparatus is staged deeper inside the station. BrinkAlert brings the door's status into the operator's line of sight with vertical, continuous LED illumination at the opening.
Door Closed
Solid red indicates the door is closed and the opening is not ready for apparatus passage.
Door in Motion
Flashing red warns that the door is actively opening or closing. Remain clear while the door is moving.
Door Fully Open
Solid green indicates the door has reached its configured fully open position. Confirm the travel path is clear before proceeding.
Preannounce
Solid amber gives advance visual notice before door movement begins, where supported and configured.

BrinkAlert communicates door status and activity. It does not replace driver judgment, department procedures, required maintenance, door safety devices or confirmation that the path is clear.

MANUAL APPARATUS BAY DOORS
Manual Door Light Kit (MDLK)
Not every fire station uses powered apparatus bay doors. Older stations, auxiliary buildings and specific bay applications may rely on manually operated doors. BrinkAlert's Manual Door Light Kit provides a path to visual door-status indication using appropriate position or limit sensing.
The MDLK brings the same clear red, moving-state and open-position concept to compatible manual-door applications without requiring the station to replace the entire door. Final switch placement, door-state logic and installation requirements should be confirmed for the specific door and site.

A useful fire station door alert system must be visible from the approach — not merely installed somewhere near the operator.
