LED CONTROLLER PROGRAMMING
LED Controllers are shipped factory pre-programmed and ready to use. You can program most features using the LED Controller Configuration Tool on the PC or using the Mode button and 1 or 2 jumper wires.
NOTE: Programming with a jumper is easy when no computer is available. If you need to program several controllers at once you should use the PC Configuration Tool. This program is also better for
setting timers precisely.

LED AUX Behavior / DOOR
FEATURE | DESCRIPTION | PROGRAMMING STEPS |
|---|---|---|
Public Light Mode | Simplifies the Aux LED output for public-facing installations by removing safety warning and disconnect indications. | [View PDF] |
Clone Mode | Enables clone mode (Main & AUX LEDs are identical). Note: Mode 2 is Clone Mode. | [View PDF] |
External Relay Control - Safety | Allows Aux LED outputs to control 24VDC relays. Aux Red = Closed, Aux Green = Open, Aux Blue = Safety. Clone Mode must be disabled. | Aux Red → Open |
External Relay Control - Motion | Allows Aux LED outputs to control 24VDC relays. Aux Red = Closed, Aux Green = Open, Aux Blue = In Motion. Clone Mode must be disabled. | Aux Red → Safety |
Aux Input / Safety / DOOR
FEATURE | DESCRIPTION | PROGRAMMING STEPS |
|---|---|---|
Half-monitored | Supports a heartbeat greater than 10 Hz when
the safety beam is not broken. | [View PDF] |
Non-monitored, Basic | Supports simple on / off signal | [View PDF] |
Fully Monitored | Monitored mode detects a heartbeat in both
the "beam blocked" and "unblocked" states. | [View PDF] |
Aux Input / Pre-announce / DOOR
FEATURE | DESCRIPTION | PROGRAMMING STEPS |
|---|---|---|
Enable Timed Pre-Announce | LEDs will flash amber after green has been
shown for a programmed amount of time | [View PDF] |
Toggle Pre-Announce Signal Input | Pre-announce input to replace the default
Safety function | [View PDF] |
Aux Input / Delayed Door Close / DOOR
FEATURE | DESCRIPTION | PROGRAMMING STEPS |
|---|---|---|
Enable the delayed door input on Safety (Also enable AUX BLUE to close the door) | When enabled, a momentary Safety/Preannounce signal while the door is open will activate the AUX BLUE output after an adjustable delay (8 seconds by default), providing a door close command. Timed Preannounce must also be enabled. | Main Green & Main Blue → Close |
To change the delay length of time, use the programming command below. | ||
Delay time before the door close command is issued | Determines how long the door remains open before a close command is issued. Press and hold the button for the desired time. Default is 8 seconds. | Main Red & Main Green → Safety |
AC Signal Options / DOOR
FEATURE | DESCRIPTION | PROGRAMMING STEPS |
|---|---|---|
Toggle AC Voltage Detection | Turns off passive AC signal detection to prevent interference with DC signal detection. | Black → Open
Main Red → Safety |
Remember AC Voltage Trigger for OPEN | Stores a selected AC voltage as the OPEN trigger and ignores other AC voltages. The desired port must be inverted prior to setup. This configuration will revert the inversions. | Main Blue & Main Green→ Open |
Controller Options / DOOR
FEATURE | DESCRIPTION | PROGRAMMING STEPS |
|---|---|---|
Disable negative voltage detection | Before entering this command, select the ports you want to affect with inversion (GND). This will disable negative DC detection for a given port | [View PDF] |
Enable PWM Detection | Before entering this command, select the ports you want to affect with inversion (GND). This will enable PWM detection for a given port. | [View PDF] |
Enable Mode Button | Enabled the mode button. If already enabled, this has no effect. | [View PDF] |
Disable Mode Button | Disable Mode Button and ignores any inputs | [View PDF] |
Configure Safety Delay | Timer for safety beam when blocked when the
door is opened before the safety triggers. | [View PDF] |
Disable transition effect | Disables the transition effect of both LED outputs | [View PDF] |
Set to a variable threshold | Select the inputs to affect with Ground before using this option (automatic detection) | [View PDF] |
Set threshold to 0.7 V | Select the inputs to affect with Ground before using this option | [View PDF] |
Set threshold to 2.5 V | Select the inputs to affect with Ground before using this option | [View PDF] |
Set threshold to 8.5 V | Select the inputs to affect with Ground before using this option | [View PDF] |
Set threshold to 15 V | Select the inputs to affect with Ground before using this option | [View PDF] |
Mechanical Operator Helper Features / DOOR
FEATURE | DESCRIPTION | PROGRAMMING STEPS |
|---|---|---|
Toggle between modes ...
• Ignore first Safety when Door is Opened
• React to first Safety when Door is Opened | Useful in old-style mechanical Liftmaster operators where safety is triggered as the door opens. This feature will ignore that signal until the signal is released. | Main Blue → Close
Main Green → Open |
Toggle between modes ...
• Ignore Safety when Door is Closed
• React to Safety when Door is Closed | Typically required to be enabled on old mechanical contactor-based operators since their operation may cause the safety to become triggered when the door is fully closed. Disabled by default. | Black → Open |
